One of the main reasons why I am in the concrete business is because concrete is such a maliable (when wet) medium that allows for an infinite number of possible creative structures. One such structure is what I call a Goat Mountain. This mountain provides my wife and I an infinite source of pleasure as we watch our goats butt heads in their daily combat to see who will prevail as "king of the hill." But more than that, this mountain, built like a dome home, is also a shelter. On the other side is an opening that reveals a cave like structure. More than once we watched our goats get in out of the weather. The concrete also serves to keep them warm in the winter time and cool in the summer time.
In months to come, I hope to get the chance to play with concrete stains to give this boulder a realistic look.
These structures also make excellent dog houses, garden sheds, pump covers, or simply a decoritive addition to the landscape. Just to give you an idea of price, I am certain I can build the goat mountain in the picture above for under $500.
